Man sentenced after drug trafficking in DMV area

GREENBELT, Md. (DC News Now) — A 47-year-old man was sentenced to nine years after pleading guilty in a drug trafficking operation.

Bengi Knox pleaded guilty on Feb. 20 to conspiring with his co-defendants, Kevin Lee Simon, Jr. and Malik Marvin Lloyd, to distribute phencyclidine (PCP). The scheme spanned from at least December 2022 through March 2023 throughout Maryland.

On Jan. 5, 2023, Knox and Lloyd arranged to meet in Washington, D.C., and exchanged PCP before meeting up the next day to exchange payment, the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) detailed.

On Feb. 7, 2023, Simon told Knox about a new source for the drug. During a phone call, Simon said to Knox that the new source of supply was “super crunch.”…
