Electric bills could rise soon for Anchorage residents

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – How much Anchorage residents pay for their electricity could be rising soon.

Chugach Electric Association, the main provider for the municipality, announced Wednesday that it is requesting a 3% increase to the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to its base rates to help make up for a revenue shortfall of roughly $11.2 million, according to the company.
