BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is inviting residents to join the Bakersfield Police Citizen Volunteer Units.
Community volunteers would work alongside law enforcement and assist at community events, support administrative tasks, canvass neighborhoods, issue child ID’s, patrol and assist at DUI checkpoints.
The community volunteers also serve as an extra pair of eyes and ears to serve the community better, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
