A Lady Lake woman was arrested after admitting to pulling out a firearm and threatening to shoot a man and his dog at The Cove Apartments.
An officer responded to the Cove Apartments, located at 735 S U.S. Hwy. 27/441, regarding a disturbance with a weapon at 8 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Dispatch advised that 40-year-old Lashanda Joclyn Hampton brandished a firearm during a verbal altercation with a man walking his dog.
Upon arrival, the officer saw the man pacing in the parking lot and yelling at Hampton. The officer approached him tactically and cautiously to detain him and put him in handcuffs pending further investigation. More officers got to the scene shortly after and split up to interview the involved parties, the report said.
The officers were told that the altercation between Hampton and the man had escalated to the point where words were exchanged. She brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot him and his dog. He left and went to get his own firearm from his residence out of fear for his life, the report said…
