Rhode Island State Police are pushing back on numbers showing an overwhelming majority of overweight trucks are getting away with going over the Washington Bridge.
The new claim from troopers comes after an NBC10 report earlier this week.
NBC 10’s Gabrielle Caracciolo obtained the numbers from a monitoring system on the bridge, and reported only a tiny fraction of overweight trucks are getting ticketed, meaning thousands are driving, without consequences, on the eastbound span that now carries both directions of traffic on I-195…
