ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A lawsuit against Roanoke City over controversial zoning amendments passed last year has been paused and may be dropped permanently in the coming months.
Earlier this year, a group of 10 Roanoke residents filed a lawsuit over zoning amendments allowing multi-family housing on all residential properties. However, the lawsuit is currently paused.
“We wanted, as a gesture of good faith, to say ‘Look, council, clearly you’re hearing us now. We’re starting a process, and we want to be good faith partners in that process.’ Because of that, we wanted to take that legal process off the table.
