Penn Hills officials appoint acting police chief

On the heels of Ronald Como’s retirement from the Penn Hills police chief position, municipal officials have appointed an acting police chief.

Officer Jason Bonace was called upon for the position.

“Penn Hills has the largest municipal police force outside of the city of Pittsburgh. We have the largest municipality with over 40,000 residents and close to 30 neighborhoods,” Mayor Pauline Calabrese said during the Aug. 18 council meeting. “We are very grateful for our public safety, and we thank each and every one of the officers for their service.”…
