BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office released details from operations over the summer tied to a larger gang-related crime and drug trafficking operation in Baton Rouge.
Sheriff Sid Gautreaux reassured residents that the parish is a safe place for most while acknowledging a “small but dangerous criminal element.” He said deputies will continue to work with partners on local, state and federal levels to address violent gang-related crime.
“Our mission is clear: to keep our neighborhoods safe and hold these offenders accountable. Now, we are asking our judicial partners to closely consider the serious criminal histories and violent behavior of these individuals. We hope the judicial process will reflect the threat they pose and ensure they are no longer able to harm our community,” Gautreaux said…
