Linn County sets meetings on nuclear zoning proposal

LINN COUNTY, Iowa — Linn County residents will soon have a chance to weigh in on new rules that could shape where nuclear energy projects and nuclear waste facilities are allowed in the county.

The Board of Supervisors has set three meetings to discuss the proposed zoning ordinance.

The first reading is Monday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. at the Jean Oxley Linn County Public Service Center, 935 2nd St. SW. That meeting will also include a public hearing, giving people an opportunity to share their thoughts directly during the agenda item.
