WASHINGTON (7News) — Two members of the D.C. National Guard helped alert police to a potentially life-threatening situation involving a man with a knife at the Waterfront Metro station, officials said.
According to the Guard, Army Spc. Tra’shwn Parham and Army Capt. Giho Yang was on patrol with the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force when Parham saw a man holding a knife and threatening another person.
“We showed our presence and then made sure that citizens around that around that area were safe,” said Yang. “To do that, we had to partner up and communicate with the law enforcement officers that were nearby, making sure that we had eyes and ears on the situation to keep everyone safe.”…
