Mayor, council wage increases, new police positions part of approved Nampa budget

The future Nampa mayor and city council will earn more for their time starting in 2026.

The Nampa City Council approved pay increases for the mayor and the council as part of its approval of the city’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget on Monday. The changes will take effect on January 1, 2026.

Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling announced earlier this summer that she will not seek a third term, so she will not see a wage increase. Nampa Communications Director Amy Bowman told BoiseDev that the mayor’s salary will increase from $110,510.40 per year to $135,000 per year. Pay for council members will increase from $10,930.40 per year to $18,930.60 per year. Both positions are already — and will continue to be — eligible for health and life insurance, Bowman said…
