‘Tiny homes’ community for older adults coming to Troy’s Lansingburgh neighborhood

TROY — It’s one big step for teeny living spaces in the Capital Region.

With final approval granted this week, Gulfstream Developers is moving forward with plans to build a community of miniature rental homes — commonly referred to as “tiny homes” — for older adults near the Troy-Schaghticoke border by summer 2026.

The $15 million project at the former site of Leonard Hospital will feature 86 of these tiny homes, ranging in size from 500 to 800 square feet — a first-of-its-kind housing development in the region…
