McDonald’s to Slash Prices on Combo Meals
Fast food prices have been climbing, making what was once a budget-friendly option feel like a splurge. But McDonald’s is aiming to change that by rolling back prices on select combo meals. The company hopes to lure back value-seeking customers who have been balking at the rising cost of a quick meal.
CEO Chris Kempczinski recently acknowledged that many customers are turned off by current menu prices. The company plans to address this by lowering prices on eight core combo meals, including popular choices like the Quarter Pounder with Cheese and the McCrispy. While the exact discount hasn’t been finalized, combo meals will be approximately 15% cheaper than purchasing each item individually.
Even more enticing are two new limited-time offers: a $5 breakfast combo and an $8 Big Mac and McNugget Extra Value Meal.
These deals are expected to launch in September and run through early 2026. However, because McDonald’s restaurants are individually franchised, prices may vary.
While corporate has encouraged franchisees to participate, ultimately each owner sets their own prices. This means the 15% combo discount may not be consistent across all locations.
However, McDonald’s hopes that the $5 and $8 meal deals will be available nationwide.
