The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam involving false claims of missed jury duty.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, community members have reported receiving calls from individuals pretending to represent the office. The callers falsely claim that the recipient missed jury duty and threaten felony or misdemeanor charges unless a fee is paid.
