INDIANAPOLIS — A woman was killed in a shooting on the near east side of Indianapolis Tuesday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to 3000 block of East 10th Street around 9:22 p.m. to assist a person who was having trouble breathing. When police arrived at the scene, they heard a gunshot ring out and saw a person running from the area.
Police detained the person who was running away from the scene and subsequently located a woman with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. IMPD confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from some sort of domestic disturbance. Police confirmed that the person of interest they detained was one of the shooting victim’s family members. Officers also found a firearm during a search of the detainee…
