WKYT Investigates: Email from Superintendent reveals FCPS budget deficit ‘talking points’

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – As Fayette County Public Schools faces a $16 million budget deficit, an email WKYT’s Samantha Valentino obtained through an open records request lays out talking points for board members.

In an email sent to board members on Sunday, August 10, Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins outlines talking points for them to use when discussing the district’s budget deficit with community members.

It’s the same email where Dr. Liggins revealed the district’s contingency fund is now expected to come in up to $20 million less than initially planned…
