MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man has been arrested in connection with the Aug. 3 robbery of a business in Mobile, police said.

According to a Mobile Police Department news release, 45-year-old George McGinney was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and charged with third-degree robbery.
Officers were called to the Piggly Wiggly at 2306 St. Stephens Road in response to a robbery. When they arrived, they learned a man had been trying to leave the store with items he didn’t pay for when an employee tried to stop him.
According to the release, in an effort to get away, McGinney closed a door in the employee’s face, injuring the employee. The employee was taken to the hospital with a minor injury.

McGinney was arrested just before 5 p.m. and taken to Metro Jail. He is still in jail awaiting a bond hearing…
