BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Officials confirmed a Chinese national studying in Baton Rouge on a student visa has been indicted for a child sex crime.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the federal grand jury recently indicted Shengjie Cheng, 32, with attempted enticement of a minor.
According to the indictment, Cheng is accused of using social media to try to convince someone, whom he believed to be a 15-year-old girl in Baton Rouge, to engage in an illegal sexual relationship.
