Man accused of shooting that left 1 hurt inside apartment in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An investigation into a shooting that left one person hurt ended with the arrest of a Baton Rouge man.

Hitesh Mistry, 23, was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) was called to an apartment in the 1600 block of Jade Avenue at 2:15 a.m. on June 24, 2025, to investigate a shooting.

Deputies found one person who was shot and later taken to the hospital. The victim was expected to survive their injuries…
