BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man was found with a rifle in his hand after the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) responded to a shooting at a home in the 14000 block of Lilac Street on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
EBRSO said they were called to the scene a little after 10 a.m., and the investigation led to Jeremiah Chissell, 39, of Baton Rouge, being taken into custody. He was charged with attempted second-degree murder and one count of aggravated criminal damage to property.
When deputies got to the scene, they were able to detain Chissell. EBRSO said a shooting victim was located down the road and taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
