4 arrested, 4 wanted in connection to more than 1,000 gravesite thefts in Omaha metro

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) – More than 1,000 gravesite vases were reported stolen at two Council Bluffs cemeteries in recent months, police said in a case update Thursday.

Ahead of an afternoon news conference, Council Bluffs Police said they had arrested four people in connection to the recent vase thefts at cemeteries in the Omaha metro.

Authorities arrested Shane Jackson, 52, and Frankie Diaz-Lopez, 26, both of Council Bluffs; Miranda Shamblin, 27, of Red Oak, Iowa; and Kenneth Meyerott, 66, who does not have a fixed address. All were booked Wednesday on charges of first-degree theft, possession of stolen property and facing a charge of solicitation of a felony…
