- Mega Saver is buying 23 Kum & Go locations from the latter’s parent company, Maverik, a spokesperson from Mega Saver confirmed to C-Store Dive.
- The deal includes 20 locations across Iowa — three of which are pending — and three in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the spokesperson said. These will be Mega Saver’s first locations in South Dakota, according to its website.
- This comes a couple of months after Mega Saver revealed it was buying three former Kum & Go locations in Nebraska.

A Mega Saver spokesperson said each location will be rebranded to the Mega Saver banner. The purchases will expand Mega Saver’s footprint by nearly 50%, from 45 to 68 sites, and give it a presence in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Florida. It continues what is shaping up to be a busy growth year for Mega Saver, which also appears to be looking to buy Yesway’s roughly 30 c-stores in Iowa and Kansas.
Iowa communities where Mega Saver is picking up Kum & Go locations include Des Moines, Ankeny and Cedar Rapids, the spokesperson said. The first signs of a deal were reported by News 4 KTIV, which noted that Mega Saver was granted liquor licenses for stores in Okoboji and Spirit Lake.
