Hawaiʻi ranks #1 in U.S. for overall well-being

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Hawaiʻi has been ranked the #1 state for well-being. That’s according to the 2025 World Population Review.

The index measures Hawaiʻi’s physical, social, community, purpose and financial health, as well as healthcare access, food access, resource access, housing and transportation and economic security.

How the index works

The Sharecare Community Well-Being Index uses more than 600 data points to create a single score.

For 2025, Hawaiʻi earned 71 points. One other state matched our score: Massachusetts. But Hawaiʻi placed first in the United States…
