Vehicle stolen from downtown Hopkinsville quickly recovered on interstate

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A vehicle stolen from downtown Hopkinsville Wednesday afternoon was quickly recovered, leading to the arrest of a 49-year-old man from Millersville, Tennessee.

According to a news release from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, on Aug. 20 at approximately 3:52 p.m. deputies were informed that a vehicle theft just occurred on Bethel Street in Hopkinsville. Soon after, patrolling deputies observed a vehicle matching the description traveling eastbound on I-24 at the 89-mile marker towards Tennessee. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jason Dunham, was arrested.

He is being charged with operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, and theft by unlawful taking-auto. Dunham was transported to the Christian County Jail…
