Fredonia Man Arrested On Multiple Charges Following Criminal Mischief Complaint In Portland

(WNY News Now) – Deputies say a 39-year-old Fredonia man faces burglary, larceny, and resisting arrest charges after an investigation in Chautauqua County.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, around 11:23 a.m., deputies responded to a criminal mischief complaint in the Town of Portland. Following the investigation, authorities allege that Jacob H. Tye, 39, of Fredonia, unlawfully entered a building with the intent to commit a crime.

Deputies say Tye is accused of stealing a Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) and later being found in possession of the stolen vehicle at his property. When deputies and state troopers attempted to place him under arrest, Tye allegedly resisted and refused to comply with officers…
