Opening date announced for Knoxville’s first Whataburger

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The wait is almost over! An opening date has been announced for Knoxville’s first Whataburger.

A spokesperson with Three8 Communications made the announcement on behalf of Whataburger on Thursday that the new Whataburger at 1830 Cumberland Avenue will be opening on Monday, August 25 at 11 a.m.

According to the spokesperson, the new restaurant “pays respect to Whataburger’s storied history while looking to the future with a forward-thinking design” with interior digital menu boards, a spacious dining room, and state-of-the-art kitchen. Additionally, at the location, “Knoxville is splashed across the wall,” and University of Tennessee sports memorabilia is prominently displayed.

The first two dining room customers will receive gift baskets, and the next 50 will receive Whataburger swag, the spokesperson added…
