LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — In early July, the Raven Ridge Wildlife Center treated an injured Great Egret, who was found limping and struggling on the ground at Kiwanis Lake in York County.
About a month later, the Egret has been released back into its natural habitat, according to the wildlife center on Aug. 18.
The Egrets at Kiwanis Lake are fledgling, the wildlife center said, which is a crucial stage for young birds to leave their nests.
