Memphis Police Hunt for Suspect in Stolen Vehicle Case on American Way

Memphis police are currently on the lookout for a male suspect connected to a vehicle theft that occurred in the 4100 block of American Way. According to Memphis Police Department’s recent report, on Monday, officers encountered a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado tagged as stolen. The suspect, found in the driver’s seat, ignored police commands and fled the scene, only for the stolen vehicle to later be found abandoned.

The incident began when officers, heeding a call about a suspicious vehicle, approached and sought to engage with the individual. Despite being ordered to exit the vehicle, the man, appearing to be asleep at the wheel, chose instead to start the truck and quickly escape in a westward direction. The stolen Chevrolet Silverado’s trail ended in the 3700 block of Meadows Lane, where it was discovered without it’s unauthorized driver.

Authorities have provided a description of the suspect: a male with dirty blonde hair, sporting a partial goatee, and an identifiable piercing over his left eye. Notably, the man has star-style tattoos on both shoulders and was last seen wearing a black tank top. The stolen vehicle, initially taken on August 10 from the 1700 block of Carruthers Place, adds to a string of auto thefts in the region…
