NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Jim Wren, a local man in North Myrtle Beach, has made quite the name for himself by finding lost jewelry for people up and down the beaches of Grand Strand.
It’s a common occurrence for people to lose belongings, especially jewelry, while at the beach, but sadly, much more is lost than is ever found. Wren has made it his mission to find the sentimental belongings and reunite them with their owners.
After serving 30 years with the Coast Guard and working 12 years with Homeland Security, his wife told him to find a retirement hobby. He picked up a metal detector and a sifter shovel and began finding jewelry — especially rings — all over the beach…
