A family with a storied legacy in the Orlando restaurant scene is behind this Italian spot

Nonno’s Italian Restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s a family legacy, a community hub, and a celebration of tradition. Born from decades of experience in Orlando’s Italian dining scene, Nonno’s was founded in December 2016 by Leonardo Lacommare and his parents. Their shared vision was simple yet important: to create a restaurant that feels like home, where every guest is treated like family and every dish tells a story.

The Lacommare family has been shaping Orlando’s Italian culinary landscape since the 1990s. Leonardo’s father Stefano began his career working in restaurants before running his own kitchens, eventually building and selling several celebrated establishments, including Il Pescatore downtown and Stefano’s Trattoria in Winter Springs. With that foundation, Leonardo grew up immersed in the world of hospitality, learning every role in the restaurant industry—from prep cook to front-of-house responsibilities. Together, the family combined their experience, passion, and knowledge to create Nonno’s, a place that embodies the warmth and authenticity of Italian family dining.
