DERIDDER, La. (WNTZ) – A Baker man was arrested Monday after police said he attacked a DeRidder officer responding to a disturbance at a local business.
The DeRidder Police Department said officers were called to the business around 1:25 p.m. about an unwanted individual. When officers arrived, they found the man intoxicated and uncooperative.

Police said the situation escalated when the suspect became aggressive, attempted to choke an officer and tried to grab the officer’s taser. Employees at the business helped subdue the man until additional officers arrived.
The officer sustained moderate injuries to the neck and face and received treatment. The suspect was not injured…
