Brief break from storms, cooldown coming

Showers and storms have slid south into Oklahoma. We will mainly be under the influence of high pressure today, this will result in sunny and mainly dry conditions.

Wednesday will not be as active but there will be a 10% chance for a shower or storm. The window of opportunity will be between the afternoon and early evening.

High temperatures will not be too toasty today. Winds will be much lighter too compared to the gusty winds that Tuesday’s storms produced.

We are one day closer to a highly anticipated cooldown. High temperatures will stay near the norm through Friday before the fall off begins over the weekend.

As temperatures fall, there will also be a chance for showers and storms. A chance Friday will be confined to northern portions of the area.

A strong to severe storm will be possible. Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the main threats.

Areas north will not only need to be weather aware to start the day Friday but all the way through the evening too.

A chance for showers and storms will include the rest of the area by Saturday. Chances will be daily through the rest of the weekend and early next week.

Fall enthusiasts will be jumping for joy next week. Just keep in mind that wet weather will keep us indoors at times.
