Rutledge man stole $1,200 from victim in Knoxville robbery, police report says

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Court records obtained by WVLT News are giving more insight into a robbery that happened at a Knoxville Kroger last week.

It happened on Aug. 15. A police report filed in Knox County’s arrest records said officers responded to the Kroger on N. Broadway after a person said a man — 37-year-old Joseph Eldridge — had robbed them at knifepoint.

The report said Eldridge watched the victim withdraw $1,080 from the store’s Western Union, then followed them into the parking lot. The report also said Eldridge pulled his car in front of the victim’s, blocking them in and showing the knife…
