Cyclist on 4,000-mile journey stops in Rochester to advocate for Gaza ceasefire

Rochester, N.Y. — A potluck dinner at Immanuel Baptist Church served as a gathering point for community members to reflect on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as Bob Sanders, a cyclist on a 4,000-mile journey against the war, made a stop in Rochester.

Sanders began his ride in San Francisco and is traveling to New Hampshire, attending potlucks along the way to foster dialogue and encourage calls for a ceasefire and the release of all hostages in Gaza.

“I do not support Hamas — everybody says that. They’re terrorists, what they did on Oct. 7 is awful,” Sanders said. “But just multiply that by a few times. That’s what Israel is doing. I have found people are against this war all over the country.”…
