Pilot Arrested For Suspected Drunkenness Raises Safety Alarms

For some people, air travel can be a frightening experience, and after a situation like this one with a pilot getting ready to fly from Georgia to Illinois, some of the passengers may never step foot on an airplane ever again.

Drunk Airline Pilot Arrested Before Flying To Chicago

My family and I love to travel. I wish we could do it a lot more. Depending on where we are going for vacation, we usually prefer to fly over driving to our destination. It’s because we have limited time off and we don’t want to waste it being in a car for a couple of days. Even though airports can be a major headache, in the end, we get more relaxation time.

I know some people are terrified of flying. If something spooks them, that could be the last time in their life that they board an airplane. This incident with a pilot could definitely have a huge negative effect on their future in air travel. It’s a scary situation for everyone.

A flight bound from Savannah, Georgia, to Chicago was delayed because the pilot wasn’t under suspicion of being drunk. Security could smell alcohol on his breath, so they contacted the police. The suspect failed field sobriety tests, so he was arrested. The pilot lost his job over the incident. Who knew you could get a FUI, flying under the influence?
