Federal grand jury indicts Kansas City man for firearms offenses

A Kansas City man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of being a felon in possession of firearms and possessing a machine gun.

The indictment, returned on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, in Kansas City, named 29-year-old Maurquis D. Jennings of Kansas City, Missouri. Jennings made his initial court appearance on Wednesday.

Prosecutors charged Jennings with one count of being a felon in possession of firearms and one count of possessing a machine gun. According to the indictment, on June 8, 2025, Jennings allegedly possessed two firearms: a Glock Model 20 Gen5, 10mm fully automatic pistol, and a Glock Model 30 Gen5, .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol.
