Carol Stream, IL — A Carol Stream man was arrested Monday after allegedly speeding through a school zone while under the influence of alcohol, according to police.
According to the Carol Stream Police Department, the incident occurred Monday afternoon in the 1300 block of Spring Valley Drive as officers were conducting a school zone patrol. The patrol coincided with student dismissal at a nearby elementary school. Officers said they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, identified as 49-year-old Gustavo Juarez-Montiel of Carol Stream, was allegedly intoxicated and driving on a suspended license related to a previous DUI offense.
