Motion to toss confession in Valero double homicide denied; trial date set

BENTON, La. – A man facing the death penalty if convicted in double homicides two years ago is accused of shooting one of the victims in the head then going through his pockets as he’s on the floor bleeding.

The shooting was caught on the gas station’s surveillance camera, along with recording the gunman picking up what appears to be money that dropped on the floor. Prior to that, the camera captured the shooter pointing a firearm at the clerk and taking money from the cash register tray.

The clerk was seated in the corner of the store when the customer was shot. The clerk was also killed…
