Teachers union starts petition, considers lawsuit over Caddo Parish Schools salary discrepancy

Over 300 teachers met in downtown Shreveport yesterday to discuss possible legal action against Caddo Parish Public Schools.

The Red River United teachers union represents teachers and school employees in northwest Louisiana. The union members met at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino yesterday evening to spread awareness over a salary discrepancy the union uncovered in the parish.

The union found that there was a salary discrepancy for teachers hired before or during 2018. Affected teachers might be owed thousands of dollars and could be making less than teachers hired after 2018…
