Coroner confirms cause of death for child left in hot car

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office determined the cause and manner of death of a 1-year-old boy who was left in a hot car on South Real Road in June.

Coroner officials determined the cause of death for Amillio Gutierrez, 1, of Visalia as heat stroke and the manner to be an accident.

The incident was reported on June 29 in the 30 block of South Real Road at around 1 p.m. Amillio was taken to Adventist Health Bakersfield where he was pronounced dead hours later…
