Riverside Village investor gets federal prison time for wire fraud

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Riverside Village investor has been sentenced in federal court for wire fraud.

Dwayne Davis was indicted by a federal grand jury more than a year ago in connection with a scheme to defraud his business partner, Government Employees Insurance Co., also known as GEICO, of more than $5 million.

Prosecutors say Kim Brown fabricated income for clients, claimed fake deductions to boost the refund, and charged a fee based on the refund.
