FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Police say a crash which knocked out power to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo and surrounding areas on Thursday night was caused by a suspected DUI driver.
The power outage was first reported at 10:41 p.m.; according to the Fresno Police Department, they started getting calls about a crash in the area of Weber and Floradora avenues around the same time.
Police say when officers arrived in the area, they found a 2002 Acura that had collided with a wooden power pole, and the vehicle had flipped.

This caused power lines to be down in the roadway, and power to be out in the area, police say. Fire crews arrived and got the driver out of the vehicle.
No injuries were reported, but officers say the driver was determined to be driving under the influence and placed under arrest…
