High Point mother sues Roblox, claiming failure to protect child from predator exploitation

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A High Point mother has filed a lawsuit in Guilford County against Roblox, alleging the popular gaming platform failed to protect her daughter from sexual exploitation.

The complaint, filed in superior court, says the girl, identified as Jane Doe N.L., was targeted by a predator on Roblox who posed as another child, built a false emotional connection, and eventually coerced her into sending explicit images in exchange for Robux, the platform’s virtual currency.

According to the lawsuit, Roblox marketed itself as safe and appropriate for children, but its design and safety features were insufficient to prevent predators from exploiting young users.
