Pennsylvania State Police welcome 59 new troopers, sees applicant increase

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A new class of Pennsylvania State Police answered the Call of Honor today.

Near Manheim, Lancaster County, 59 cadets took the oath to become troopers. State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris told them to always be professional, compassionate, and humble.

“For as long as you wear this uniform, treat everyone you interact with the way you want your families seated before you here today be treated, moreover, envision your family members on their very worst day,” Paris said.

This is the 173rd Cadet Class and the third to graduate without the requirement to have have college credits. Pennsylvania waived that requirement in August 2023 to boost application numbers…
