ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester woman has been sentenced for hiding her boyfriend’s body and collecting his Social Security benefits for months.
Wendy Stone was sentenced to nine months in prison on Friday in Monroe County Court on her charge of concealment of a human corpse. Back in July, she was also sentenced to a year in prison in a separate federal court case on her charge of conversion/unlawful conveyance of government money, which she pleaded guilty to. Those two sentences will run concurrently.
Federal attorneys say Stone hid the body of Kenneth Crisman, who died in December of 2022, in a recycling bin, wrapping the body in plastic and pouring bleach on his body to prevent the smell. During that time, authorities say Stone collected $7,900 in Crisman’s Social Security benefits and over $1,000 in his SNAP benefits. They also say she used Crisman’s debit card to spend his benefits…
