AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is emphasizing the importance of vehicle safety, with a particular focus on proper child seating and seatbelt use.
At the Texas Travel Information Center, TxDOT is using a rollover simulator, which rotates at speeds up to 35 miles per hour, to demonstrate the potential consequences of neglecting car safety measures.
“We’re trying to educate them and make it tangible to them about what can happen when traffic crashes happen,” said Jason Britsch, a public information officer with TxDOT. “Just to give them some information as well, just to meet with them, talk with them and show them kind of what’s happening in our area and what simple choices they can make.”…
