Nebraska State Fair prepares for influx with safety measures in place

Grand Island, Neb — As the Nebraska State Fair gears up to welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors, carnival rides are set to operate at full capacity. Gary Zaitshik, General Manager of Wade Shows, emphasized the extensive preparation undertaken to ensure the rides are ready for the influx.

“We have people who have worked with us 25 years or longer and they are trained to set up and tear down the rides,” said Zaitshik. “We also have ride supervisors who have been with us, third-generation ride supervisors have been in the industry for many years. A lot of our rides have played previous events, where they’ve been inspected previous times throughout the year.”

For those concerned about safety, Zaitshik assured that a third-party inspector examines the rides before the carnival begins. “Wade Shows has a history and a good safety record of having rides that are safe and that’s because we have a lot of people involved in different layers of protection to make sure they’re safe while we’re here at the Nebraska State Fair,” he said…
