NEW ORLEANS — In new developments connected to the criminal fraud case against Mayor LaToya Cantrell, a federal judge has ordered settlement talks in the related defamation lawsuit against the mayor.
And as that civil case is currently being waged, taxpayers could be on the hook if the two sides agree on a dollar amount.
