A 19-year-old man is fighting for his life following a shooting in Walnut Park West on August 20, which has now led homicide detectives to take over the investigation. The young man was dropped off at a local hospital by a white sedan that quickly departed the scene only to be involved in a subsequent collision at the intersection of Kingshighway Boulevard and Laclede Avenue, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The aftermath of the accident resulted in the apprehension of three individuals, two minors aged 17 and 16, along with another 19-year-old, all found within the white sedan which had carried the shooting victim, the vehicle contained firearms and suspected narcotics seized by the officers.
Detectives have traced the origins of the shooting to the 6000 block of Emma Avenue, although the sequence of events that led to the violence remain unclear as the investigation is ongoing. In the chaos that followed the incident, the unsuspecting driver of a vehicle struck by the sedan was hospitalized, thankfully with injuries determined not to be life-threatening, a small mercy in an otherwise grim tableau…
