Fatal crash on Highway 95 claims life of California man, leaves tractor driver uninjured

MALHEUR COUNTY, Ore. — Just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 95, near milepost 47 in Malheur County.

Police say a northbound Subaru Legacy driven by Barry Thomas Hostler, 48, of Truckee, Calif., struck the rear of a northbound Case International 7220 tractor operated by Jesse Dean White, 67, of Jordan Valley, that was moving at slow speeds.

Hostler was declared deceased at the scene…
